Article on Bob Marley found on the net

Paul Alessandrini is one of the best rock critic journalist in France. In the 70s he worked for "Rock and Folk" magazine, for french radio and television."I first met Bob Marley in Amsterdam, in 1976. He was not very tall but he had an enigmatic and seductive smile, he was really handsome. He was touring Europe and in Amsterdam he lived in a suite already used by the emperor Haile Selassie when He visited Holland years before. The concert was amazing, comparable only with Jimy Hendrix 1967 concert in Paris at the famous Olympia.I was in Amsterdam and I had the opportunity to interview Bob Marley after the show but he was so "stoned", he refused to talk to me for a longtime. I had the idea to speak about soccer and I proposed him to play soccer during his next visit in Paris. The interview was published on "Rock and folk" magazine. In 1992, when I visited Hope Road in Kingston, that cover (and my interview) was hung on the wall of the House. We played soccer on a synthetic ground next to Hilton Hotel in Paris and the Tour Eiffel. There were the Wailers, four or five rock critics and a team with actors, artists and Francis Borrel, at that time the President of Paris S. Germain team. We won 4-0.I saw Bob again in 1980 in Kingston. We waiting for him for many days (he had suddenly left for Zimbabwe) and at to his return we succeeded in filming him.It was a magic moment, unforgettable, especially when he recorded "Could you be loved" at Tuff Gong studio. We again played soccer in the yard. He said: "Football is music". Some weeks later, in the mid July, the Wailers went in Paris for a concert in the Le Bourget Parc; after the concert there was a party on a bateau mouche on the Seine. We projected the movie taken in Kingston and Bob Marley, the Wailers and all the entourage watched it. Bob said "It's good, I like it".Hours later Chris Blackwell called me at phone to tell me that Bob Marley wanted me to film his concert in Brasil at Maracanà Stadium scheduled for the next months. But soon Bob fell sick in New York and the tour was cut off.
